Understanding Event Capacity Limits and First-Come, First-Served Rules

Because many of our technical workshops, hands-on training sessions, and seminars require specialized equipment, tools, or limited venue spaces, we often have to enforce strict capacity limits.

How Capacity Limits Work:
When an event form is published, it is programmed with a maximum participant threshold. Once that limit is reached:
  • The system automatically stops accepting new registrations.
  • The form status will switch to "Closed" or display a notification that all slots have been filled.

    First-Come, First-Served Basis:
To remain completely fair to all Industrial Arts students, event slots are distributed strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Simply asking an officer to reserve a spot verbally does not secure your position; your form must be successfully submitted and approved online.

What to Do If an Event Fills Up Fast:
If you missed out on registration because slots ran out instantly, check the event page to see if a Waitlist option is available. If cancellations occur, waitlisted students are automatically moved up in order.

    Questions About Event Slots?
If you want to know if additional capacity or a repeat session will be opened for a popular workshop, reach out to our events committee:
